Police in Ames are investigating an armed robbery which occurred early Monday morning at a convenience store on the western edge of the Ames metropolitan area.
At approximately 12:05 a.m., Ames Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Kum and Go convenience store located at 4506 Lincoln Way.
The suspect was described to officers by the store clerk as a black male, wearing a black puffy winter coat. The person was also wearing a rubber glove on one hand and bags over his shoes.
The male suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money from the registers. The suspect then fled the scene with another male subject who was waiting outside the store. Both individuals then got into a sedan style vehicle that was operated by a third person that fled the scene heading southbound.
No injuries were reported.
The Ames Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident.
