The Historical Society of Marshall County held its annual meeting on Tuesday, Mar. 17th, with board members and HSMC members in attendance.
Guest Speaker Amber Danielson, Executive Director of the Marshalltown Arts and Cultural Alliance, spoke about rebuilding efforts in the community and the Marshalltown Arts and Master Plan.
Regular business included approval of the 2021 annual meeting minutes and treasurer’s report and 2022 budget, which indicates an operating budget deficit and highlights the need to focus on long-term sustainability of the Historical Society.
Dan Brandt and Julie Jontz-Lang were re-elected to three-year terms to the board of directors, leaving two open positions on the board to be filled.
Michelle Roseburrough-Halverson also reported on 2021 activities and plans for 2022 programming.
The next public program will be “History on Third Thursday” at the Marshalltown Public Library on April 21st at 7 p.m.
