On Wednesday, April 13th, at the Marshalltown High School cafeteria over 100 volunteers helped package 20,000 meals to feed the hungry in Marshall County.

The meal packaging event was coordinated by student philanthropy groups from east Marshall, West Marshall and Marshalltown High Schools which are sponsored by the Community Foundation of and the Martha-Ellen Tye Foundation.

According to Julie Hitchens, Executive Director for the Community Foundation of Marshall County the event would not have been such an overwhelming success if not for the efforts of a few notable area organizations and individuals.
