The F.I.A. Friendship Club and Hardin County Community Services are joining with organizations and individuals throughout the U.S. in recognizing May as “Mental Awareness Month.”

The focus for 2022 is “Back to Basics.”  The goal is to provide foundational knowledge about mental health and mental health conditions and information about what people can do if their mental health is a cause for concern.

In an effort to increase awareness locally, F.I.A. Friendship Club, Hardin County Community Services, and C-I-C-S will sponsor the 22nd Annual Mental Health Awareness Seminar on Wednesday, May 25th at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls.  “A Mother’s Journey-A Message of Hope” will be presented by Angela Tharp, N-A-M-I Central Iowa Executive Director.

The event will begin with the keynote speaker at 11:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church located at 11:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church located at 619 Main Street in Iowa Falls.  At noon, a complimentary ham ball luncheon will be served.  There will be a humorous presentation “Laughs with Libby” after the luncheon, followed by a brief recognition of donors and volunteers.
