The Marshalltown Post Office teamed up with postal service agencies across the country on Saturday in collecting non-perishable food items to help feed the hungry.
The event, known as the annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive, has been going on across the United States for approximately 30 years, but was recently put on hold due to COVID-19.
Bianca Aragon, a mail carrier for the Marshalltown Post Office, says she looks forward to the food drive continuing in the future, noting there is always a need to help out those who are less fortunate.
The Marshalltown Post Office collected 10,000 pounds in non-perishable food items during its latest Stamp Out Hunger food drive effort that was held in 2019 before the event was impacted by the pandemic.
The Marshalltown Post Office would like to thank everyone who provided a non-perishable food donation during this year’s food drive event.
