On Tuesday, the Marshall County Supervisors unanimously voted to dissolve an agreement which had been in place with the Iowa Regional Utilities Association and USDA Rural Development that would have allowed for grant funding to be utilized for a proposed sanitary sewer installation project for the community of Green Mountain.
In making the decision, the board noted concerns with not being able to complete the project within the previously proposed timeline. Local officials are continuing to work toward achieving a feasible solution for obtaining the necessary funding to complete the sanitary sewer project.
Marshall County Emergency Management Director Kim Elder brought the board up to date on the latest developments involving a proposed siren project for rural areas of Marshall County. Elder noted that the majority of funding for the project will come from the federal level with some state monies being utilized, as well.
The board also approved a series of extended law enforcement agreements with several different communities throughout Marshall County through June of 2023.
A business associate agreement was also approved with Springbuk, Incorporated relating to HIPPA matters concerning the county’s self-funded health plan.
