The Freedom Rock in Marshalltown near the American Legion Headquarters was dedicated on Monday the Fourth of July. American Legion Post Commander Randy Kessler says the rock for the display was donated, the work to move to the rock from place to place was donated and the paintings on the rock itself were done by a man named Bubba Sorenson. A large crowd gathered for the dedication. A 21 gun salute was held. A great weather day greeted the participants. The rock is on display at the American Legion Headquarters in the 13-hundred block of South Sixth Street in Marshalltown.
