Students and staff at Marshalltown High School were in a brief lock-down situation during the day on Wednesday, according to school administrative officials.
The lock-down situation went into effect at around 12:25 p.m. and was lifted at 12:30 p.m.
According to Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper, there was initially a reported threat involving a student in the Marshalltown School System.
However, after further investigation it was determined that there was no known or imminent threat of danger to any students or staff within the Marshalltown School District.
According to Chief Tupper, the situation that led to the emergency alert is under investigation, but at this time there are no safety concerns for anyone within the school district.
