A top biofuel producer in Hardin County has received more than six-million dollars from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to help lower overall costs and provide added support toward its overall operations after it faced unexpected market losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
P-L-C-P LP in Hardin County is receiving a payment of $6,567,902.
The funds are being made available through the U.S.D.A. Biofuel Producer Program, which was created as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act.
The U.S.D.A. has announced that the agency is providing funding to biofuel producers in ten different Iowa counties directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The recent announcement was part of a larger nationwide announcement made by Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack for $700 million to help support biofuel producers in 25 states.
