The Marshall County Supervisors approved to close out a wind energy project which has been ongoing in the southern part of the county at its meeting on Tuesday.
A motion was approved by the county board specifying that MidAmerican Energy has no further obligation involving the future maintenance of county roads during the initial construction of the Laurel Repower Wind Project.
Continuing discussion was held by the board regarding the Green Mountain Sanitary Sewer Project. Although the board formally approved to terminate gran funding being sought for the project at its last meeting, a representative from the Iowa Regional Utilities Association was on hand at Tuesday’s meeting, noting that one way or the other, the project will move forward.
A public meeting to further address the issue is slated for June 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Green Mountain Community Center.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the county board also approved a listing of expenditures for the courthouse reconstruction project.
A separate motion was also made by the board approving two contract change orders as part of the overall project.
Supervisors also approved an application for a hazard mitigation grant to help fund a proposed siren project covering rural areas of Marshall County.
