AgCertain Industries of Ames has announced plans to expand its current business operations while increasing its workforce.

On Thursday, the company announced it had purchased Maytag Dairy Farms from Midwest Growth Partners, a West Des Moines private equity firm.

Midwest Growth Partners is a shareholder in AgCertain Industries.

With the expansion, AgCertain is proposing to add approximately 10 new jobs to the dairy’s roughly 30.

AgCertain, which employs approximately 45 people, is actively involved with the production of specialty edible oils at its Ames manufacturing plant.  The company also has a manufacturing operation in nearby Boone.
