A Marshalltown man is facing domestic abuse assault charges in connection with an incident that occurred Monday evening on the city’s northwest side.

At around 5:30 p.m., Marshalltown Police were dispatched to a residence located in the 100 block of Taft Street in response to a report of a domestic type incident in progress.

Twenty-eight-year-old David Venegas was arrested by police on one count of Domestic Abuse Assault by Strangulation and one count of Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Bodily injury,
