Police Chief Mike Tupper mentions that there have been a few stolen cars recently in Marshalltown.  He joins KFJB earlier this week to discuss the uptick.

He goes on to mention that he understands that we live in rural Iowa and we trust majority of our neighbors.  Thats not a good enough excuse to leave our keys in our car and unlocked.  There was some good news about the stolen cars last week.

The keys in the car makes it easy to steal, without the keys its much harder. He hasn’t seen a car hotwired in many years because that is much harder to do nowadays.  Chief Tupper explains how most of the burglaries go.

Remember to lock your car even if your just running into the store for a quick drink.
