Talking with Marshalltown Mayor Joel Greer earlier this week, he talks about MPACT program going on in Marshalltown.

MPACT is where social workers also respond to police calls when it is necessary for a social worker to be there, the City Council must have also been interested in this program after hearing a presentation

From the presentation David Hicks, YSS Executive Director, gave at the beginning of the month, MPACT has been widely successful.  Lots of positive feed back from citizens and the police department.

Mayor Greer tells us what he thinks the next step for the program is

MPACT has been widely successful in its first 8 months, responding to about 20 calls a month and helping relieve some stress off of the police department.
