The American Flag that was flying since the tornado was retired and a new flag was presented to fly on the courthouse. They are hoping the Courthouse is 100% complete by February. People were able to stop by the Courthouse to explore Saturday until 8pm as the Holiday Stroll was going on.
Despite the fridged weather on Saturday, people still bundled up to come out for the Holiday Stroll. Businesses had cookies, hot cocoa, hand warmers, and holiday cheer as people walked around main street and downtown Marshalltown. The street was filled by 5pm when the parade came down main street. Tractors and cars were lit up as different floats went down main street. Marshalltown High School Band members wore holiday costumes and played music as they marched, and Santa was at the end of the parade. After the parade many did gather at Tanin wine bar, where holiday songs sang. Customers were encouraged to sing along as there were people performing on the piano and singing different songs.
