4 vendors have been asked to not return to the Iowa State Fair next summer.  Dustin Beener, owner of Hardenbrook Concessions; Julie Drury, owner of Pete’s Lemonade Shake Ups and Pete’s Ice Cream & Snow Cones; Diane Perry, owner of Dad’s Old Fashioned Lemonade; and Ken Brost, owner of JR Donuts.  The reason the fair gave in a letter is, “Rules and procedures according to the agreed upon concessions were violated in 2022.”  All 4 vendors signed the audits and promised to pay the extra sales tax owed from last summer.  One owner said she thought she had to sign it to renew her contract for next summer.  The Iowa State Fair said they will open the four spots to new vendors. The application process begins in January.
