The Marshalltown Community School District is canceling school for Today the 16th.  The cancellation is due to high levels of student and staff illness-related absences. School is scheduled to resume on Monday December 19th at its regularly scheduled time.  All school sponsored extracurricular activities, practice and performance, are cancelled during the timeframe the schools are closed.  St. Francis Catholic school is also canceled today, after reassessing absences on Thursday, they also decided it was best to cancel school today.
