Wednesday afternoon was the first meeting of the new year for the Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors.  They started the meeting with a review of the district’s annual audit report.  Of note, the district’s operating revenue increased approximately $2.37 million compared to fiscal year 2021. The district’s operating expenses also increased approximately $2.18 million compared to the past fiscal year. To round out the audit report, the district net position increased by approximately $6.1 million compared to the previous fiscal year.  Before the meeting ended there was a request to approve a public hearing for plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost for renovations of the Babe Harder Gymnasium and locker rooms located on the MCC Campus.  It is projected to be a modest renovation for about $1.1 million.  The board unanimously approved the public hearing for the next regular meeting on Feb. 8, which will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the IVCCD Board Room located at 3702 S. Center St. in Marshalltown.
