July 19, 2018 will be a date that many people in Marshalltown will not forget, the day the EF-3 tornado went right down main street.  Tuesday, May 23, 2023 the Marshall County Courthouse re-opened after improvements were made.  Then yesterday, the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony before the Board of Supervisors meeting celebrating the return.  The total cost of the project, which had a derecho and global pandemic happen mid-project, was roughly $45 million with majority covered through an insurance settlement.  Check out the improved Marshall County Courthouse!
