Firework stands are popping up in all the big parking lots it seems. While firework sales are permitted during this time, you should check with your city to see if you’re allowed to fire them off.
That’s Marshall County Sheriff, Joel Phillips. He mentions the hours people are allowed to fire off fireworks, according to state law, would be 9am – 10pm. Only July 4th and the Saturday and Sunday before, fireworks can be shot off until 11pm.
Reminder to those who live in Marshalltown City Limits, there is a city ordinance against shooting off fireworks. If you are outside city limits and shooting off any to celebrate, be extra careful with the dry conditions this summer.
