The House of Compassion gives support to the community in multiple ways, whether that’s the supply closet or the nightly meal that they serve. Chad Hammer, House of Compassion Executive Director, joins the KFJB studio to tell us about some summer needs.
Chad mentions that it is common for supply closets and food banks to have low stock over the summer as people are out traveling and enjoying the weather.
The House of Compassion has a supply closet that is different than a food bank. Their focus is more on those cleaning supplies or other non food items needed around the house. They are located at the corner of 3rd St. and Church St in downtown Marshalltown.
