The special election for the franchise fee is TODAY, polling locations are open.   City Councilor Jeff Schneider was in the KFJB studio yesterday and talked about the potential franchise fee.  He first explains what it is.

Schneider then states what the money collected would be used for.

Schneider said that the current city council is committed to using that 70% for current roads and not new road project.  Those in Ward 3 typically vote at the MAC, Marshalltown Arts and Civic Center, they will be voting at Redeemer Lutheran Church.  Ward 4 is at Redeemer Lutheran Church.  Ward 1 is the Library and Ward 2 is the Iowa Veterans Home.
