Bids were opened for the Kiwanis Park upgrades and last night Heather Thomas, Marshalltown Public Works Director, presented the low bid for the project from Brothers Concrete.  She first mentions the upgrades for Kiwanis Park.

Thomas then tells us the range for the 7 bids that they opened were from $227,000 to $474,000. Brothers Concrete out of Des Moines was the low bid.

This is $6,000 below the initial cost estimate.  Recent conversations with Geoff Hubbard, he thinks some construction could start this fall.
