The Marshalltown Area United Way has a large goal this year of raising $825,000.  This is an increase of $25,000 over last years goal of just $800,000.  Kendra Sorenson, Marshalltown Area United Way Executive Director, gave KFJB listeners an update yesterday on their campaign.

Sorenson mentions that some business packets are slowly coming in. While last year’s campaign knocked it out of the park, not all of that money is returning this year.

Each year presents new challenges for the United Way, and each year they figure out a way to make it all happen.  KFJB will check in with Sorenson or Shannon Johnson after Power of the Purse event this evening.
