Kohan Retail Investment Group owns the Marshalltown Mall and has not paid their utilities bill, which has caused Alliant Energy to shut off power.  Any stores with a door to the outside can continue to operate, but stores like Oliver Beene had to shut down due to Fire Marshal rules. This prompted a larger decision for the business.

That is owner Rhonda Braudis who owns Oliver Beene with her wife Laura.  Braudis tells KFJB that they will be moving to 214 E Main St. to the building just to the west of the Orpheum.  Braudis talks about the new space.

The move was sparked by the power being shut off, but Braudis says they always wanted to be on Main Street.  She said they have a goal to be open by the Holiday Stroll Saturday November 18th. Watch their Facebook page, Oliver Beene Designs for more information.
