The Marshalltown Community College Tigers Esports team is making their name known Nationally.  The program started last fall with an unexpected National Champion in Amber Lawthers in Mario Kart.  The Tigers did not want to be one and done, though.  Now this fall the Tigers stepped up their game, literally, and took home hardware in 2 different titles.  Lawthers, along with her teammates this fall, won the National Championship in Mario Kart 4×4.  The Overwatch 2 team also won the NJCAAE (National Junior College Athletic Association Esports) championship.  The Overwatch team had confidence from the pre-season when they went undefeated.  After a few loses throughout the season, they were able to beat a team in the Championship that had defeated them earlier in the season.  Esports in central Iowa is being embraced from the High School State championships being played in Marshalltown to MCC taking home multiple National Championships.
