Earlier this week the City of Marshalltown put out a position announcement that they will be accepting applications for the next Fire Chief.  The current Fire Chief, Chief Dave Rierson, will be retiring at the end of March next year.  Chief Rierson has been in Marshalltown nearly a decade and a firefighter for close to 40 years.  Chief Rierson’s leadership could be seen during both the tornado and derecho that hit our community.  The department was out helping the community the moment they were able to.  The position description is asking for someone with a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science and at least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in a career Fire Department.  You can learn more about the job online at Marshalltown-ia.gov
