The List for Friday, January 5th 2024

Welcome to The List,

Talk about your long, strange trips:  After numerous brushes with the law over the years, Shia LaBeouf is officially on the side of the Lord . . . and he plans to become a DEACON. Shia was confirmed into the Catholic religion  in California on Sunday. He apparently discovered Catholicism while making the 2022 movie “Padre Pio”.

Chris Janson can sing sure…but he also wants you to know he’s an authentic Country boy telling Rolling Stone magazine that he openly embraces his country boy identity. Saying  “I know how to field dress a deer, how to work on an SS 454 and switch out the carburetor if need be. I’m a realistic redneck-type guy. But with that being said, I love everything about life and people, all walks of life. That’s where my life is.”

After 47 years, Elvis Presley will re-enter the building . . . as a hologram.  The hologram show “Elvis Evolution” will hit the London stage in November, then relocate to Las Vegas, Berlin, and Tokyo.  Flesh-and-blood Elvis played his last show on June 26th, 1977 at the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis.  He died less than two months later, at the age of 42.

Scotty McCreery teased a new song yesterday.  It won’t take you TOO long to notice its ’90s vibe.  He’s previously mentioned that he’s working on an album that’ll be reminiscent of songs he grew up with that have a “honky tonk ’90s sound”. Check it out HERE

You can catch The List weekdays at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Monday, November 25th 2024

Welcome to The List,

Game show host Chuck Woolery died on Saturday at his home in Texas. . . . TMZ reports that he went to lie down because he wasn't feeling well.

Chuck was the original host of "Wheel of Fortune" back in the late '70s . . . he went on to host the "Scrabble" game show in the '80s . . . and of course "Love Connection" from 1983 to 1994.

He also did some later shows, like "Lingo" on the Game Show Network, and "Greed" on Fox.

There's no word on a cause of death, Chuck Woolery was 83…

-----

"Billboard" put out their list of the Top 100 Country Singers of All Time . . . and some folks are less than pleased.  Specifically, because Taylor Swift was ranked above Brooks & Dunn, Hank Williams Jr., and Toby Keith.  Also, Jason Aldean didn't even make the list at all..what’s THAT all about…..

-----

Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes is making around $50 million a year.  But now, his wallet will be 0.03% LIGHTER . . . thanks to FINGER GUNS.

The NFL has fined Patrick $14,069 for the "violent gesture" he made last week, while celebrating a touchdown.  He'd just scored on Buffalo, and Patrick used both hands to mimic firing dual pistols.

Let's be honest . . . he wouldn't have been fined for mimicking a bow and arrow . . . throwing knives . . . or dramatically acting out the extremely violent "finishing moves" from "Mortal Kombat".  (Although that would be amusing.)

-----

Chris Stapleton and Brooks & Dunn are now tied with the most CMA Awards in history.  They have 19 wins each.

You can catch The List, weekdays at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
