Yesterday it was announced by State Senator Jeff Edler’s office that he will not be seeking re-election this fall. Edler was first elected to the Iowa Senate in District 26 in 2016 then re-elected in 2020. District 26 covers parts of Marshall and Story County. Edler says in his statement, “he feels it is time to let the next generation of leaders take his spot in the Senate and continue to implement conservative policies to make Iowa the best place to live.” Edler sat on multiple committees and even chaired the Health and Human Service committee. He was also part of the Agriculture, Appropriations, and Veteran Affairs Committees. We at KFJB wish Edler the best for his final year in the Iowa Senate and moving forward.
