The List for Monday, April 14th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Ladies, start your... rockets! Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez, and Gayle King are making history today, launched into space on Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin rocket. It took off at  9:30 a.m. Eastern. A seat can cost up to $450,000—or, you know, slightly less than a weekend at Coachella with VIP passes. The first seat with Bezos sold for $28 million... for that price, the rocket better have reclining seats and a drink cart.

Will Smith dropped a new album and, well... it landed with less of a slap and more of a soft tap. “Based On A True Story” sold only 268 copies in the UK—so basically just his extended family and a couple of curious Amazon shoppers. It didn’t even crack the Billboard 200 in the U.S., but he’s not giving up. He’s planning two more albums and a European tour. Say what you want—he slaps back.

-----

Ed Sheeran’s thinking about going country—and not just because he wore flannel once. He says Nashville’s his favorite U.S. city and he's already teamed up with Luke Combs and Chris Stapleton. But Ed insists he won’t just dip his boots in—he wants to do it right. Because, as we all know, once you go country, you never go... back to math rock? Alan Jackson warned us: "She’s gone country, look at them boots!"

-----

Eric Church is turning Red Rocks into Revival Rocks this July with three unique shows! July 12th, 13th, and 14th—three nights, three setlists, and probably three whiskey-soaked singalongs to “Springsteen.” It’s the kind of show that makes you scream, cry, and question why you ever left your cowboy hat in the car.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Friday, April 11th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Morgan Wallen has officially beat Taylor Swift’s record for the most Top 10 hits from an unreleased album. He’s already got five songs sittin’ pretty on the Billboard Hot 100, and his album "I'm the Problem" doesn’t drop until May 16th. That title feels oddly familiar, no? Anyway, who needs a release date when the Internet’s already thirsting over your deep-fried heartbreak bangers?

-----

Word is J.Lo is ready to light up the PR world like a bedazzled flamethrower. Why? Because Ben Affleck dared to call their divorce "embarrassing." Now Jen’s allegedly planning a tell-all interview that might make Gone Girl look like a rom-com. She’s tired of being the quiet one and is ready to serve truth with a side of sass—hold the filter. Ben wanted privacy, and now he’s about to get... primetime.

-----

A company called Hollo has unveiled a fully interactive AI version of Suzanne Somers. Not a hologram—this version can talk, think, blink, and possibly steal your job. Her widow says they talked about it before she passed, and he’s hoping the AI Suzanne can star in future Three’s Company episodes. So yes, we’ve officially reached the point where robots are remaking sitcoms. Next up: Roomba with a SAG card.

-----

The 2025 March Man-ness bracket is over, and your winner for hottest man in country music is... George Strait. That’s right—King George took the crown with nothing but charm, swagger, and probably a strong cologne game. Fans said he’s aged like a fine whiskey… and they’d like a sip. So, to the young stars with spray tans and tight jeans: take notes—class is in Strait session.
