Friday, Kyle Martin spoke with Marshalltown Mayor Joel Greer, about the state of Marshalltown after City Administrator Joe Gaa resigned. In the interim, Mayor Greer is filling the role of City Administrator. This has given Greer the opportunity to meet with more of the staff one on one.
Greer feels that with our current staff, Marshalltown should be able to entice a good candidate for City Administrator. Greer is bringing stability to the position in the meantime
Mayor Greer admits that he isn’t the most knowledgeable about all of the topics so having someone as knowledgeable as Kinser about the city and issues is a great addition. The Council voted to use a search firm for the next City Administrator, which is set to start April 1st.
