Last night the city of Marshalltown approved the new agreement with Marshall County 911 Communication Commission. The new agreement will have the commission pay $1,000 in rent each month instead of $1 per year for rent. Mayor Greer made an announcement after the vote passed.
Previously those who took 911 calls were city employees, according to Mayor Greer, when the Commission was created that is when the employees were no longer able to use the gym facility.
Mayor Greer says when he meets with the other Mayors part of that commission, he will continue to advocate for those employees to have access to the gym.
