Marshalltown City Council approved the addition of 32 Flock Safety Cameras back in October of 2023.  People have now been seeing the cameras put up around town and are wondering what they are and what they do.

That is Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper.  He says that the cameras are not monitored by someone 24/7 and these cameras do not write tickets.  They are not like the speed cameras that went up recently.

Chief Tupper also mentions stolen vehicles is another crime these cameras can assist with easily.  As we continue to use them, we will find other ways these cameras can be useful.
