The Marshalltown Police Department and YSS partnered back in 2020 to create a program called MPACT.  Marshalltown Police and Community Team, and this team focused on fighting crime differently.  Giving some individuals help instead of arresting them.

That is David Hicks, Executive Director with YSS, he has been following the data closely for 3 years now.  Hicks says some of their follow ups deter further police phone calls and time.

Hicks, the 2 advocates, and the Marshalltown Police Department is inviting the public out for an Evening with MPACT.  This event they will share more data and answer questions from anyone who wants to learn more.

This event is happening tomorrow night from 5:30 – 7:30 at Tannin Wine Bar.  Their program will start at 6pm
