As of Wednesday, April 17th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.32 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 1 cent from last week’s price and are down 20 cents from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.66, up 4 cents from last week’s price but still 34 cents higher than the average price in Iowa. Retail diesel prices in Iowa held steady this week with a statewide average of $3.79. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.96 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 27 cents lower than the national average of $4.06. Natural gas prices fell 21 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently prices at $1.67/MMbtu.
