The Marshalltown Police Department conducted 5 search warrants in Marshall and Benton Counties related to an ongoing theft investigation. This investigation started in March of 2024 relating to multiple thefts from a local business, of property totaling around $40,000. While conducting the multiple search warrants, stolen property from other jurisdictions were located. This led to the arrest of 41-year-old Steven Paul Seelye Jr., of Furguson on April 22nd. Seelye has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Theft in the 1st degree, and Theft in the 2nd degree, 3 counts. This investigation is still ongoing.
