The List for Monday, April 29th 2024

Welcome to The List,

Happy 91st Birthday to Willie Nelson!  His birthday is today . . . and tomorrow.  Yes, that’s right…Willie was born in Abbott, Texas on April 29th, 1933 but very late at night.  He said  “I was born before midnight on the 29th but it didn’t get registered in the county courthouse, until the next day.  So, it went out officially as the 30th.  So, I just do both days.”

“Entertainment Weekly” made a list of 25 movies that will take you back to childhood.  It includes “A Goofy Movie”, “Air Bud”, and some more surprising ones like “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”…for ME it was Star Wars: A New Hope and Cheech and Chong: Up in Smoke…neither of which are children’s movies…but I had a weird childhood anyway… (You can see the complete list at EW.com.)

Tornadoes on Friday have caused so much damage to the midwest.  One of the first cities to get hit was Omaha, Nebraska.  Zach Bryan made a statement in support of the victims, since he used to live there. He says, quote, “I want to offer some honest prayers and hopes to the communities affected . . . The band and I are standing with you guys as we are playing some shows in Omaha . . . we love you so much and we’ll do all we can to help.”  He didn’t just make the “statement” He actually showed up to help in the affected area!!

If you think the new Taylor Swift record  “The Tortured Poets Department” is for kids…you’d be wrong…apparently she’s all grown up and it has SOME parents upset….The new album has 57 swear words, which is a 5,600% increase in profanity from her first album.  The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

Avatar: Fire and Ash picks up after The Way of Water and dives into darker territory, introducing a more aggressive Na’vi tribe tied to fire and volcanic regions. It cranks up the conflict, explores moral gray areas, and shows Pandora is a lot less peaceful than we thought.
