The Iowa Legislature is now adjourned for the 2024 session.  Representative from our area, Sue Cahill, joined the KFJB line to tell listeners how this session wrapped up.  She first mentions a few long nights at the end of the session.

One of the bills the legislature was debating until the end was about a pool of money Iowa has received from the Opioid settlement.  Cahill mentions there is about $20 Million that could be used for mental health services.

This bill seemed like a big win for the Iowa House

Cahill said a representative who is retiring mentioned to the house that no one should be married to a bill, as you never know what could happen.
