The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a fire on Friday morning at the ITC Marshalltown Transformer yard.  Marshalltown Fire Marshall, Josh Warnell, joined the KFJB line yesterday to give some more details.

This fire was unique as it was a fire around electrical equipment so your typical water hose could not be used.  The responding individuals needed to think outside the box.

Once identifying the best plan of attack and which areas are hot, the team used foam to suffocate the flames.  They then used a drone to monitor the temperature of the structure.

The fire department truly saved the day and the town on Friday morning.
