Interview: Zearing offers plenty of opportunity and exploration

This weeks Kix Country Community is Zearing, a rural community nestled in the Northeast corner of Story County.

From Zearing you can explore the Praeri Rail Trail that is great any time of the year for hiking, cycling, horseback riding as well as snowmobiling. Zearing is home to Dakins Lake, a favorite spot for locals & travelers alike with camping, hiking, fishing & other outdoor activities. The lake with campground & walking trails is a great place to relax & take in some Story County nature & each winter the Zearing Fire Department hosts the fundraising Ice Fishing Derby! Come to Zearing to do some hiking, toss in a line or paddle around a while.

Today on the Morning Kix Start, Brandon Lewis talked with Danny Simcox, Park Ranger for Story County Conservation.
