The List for Thursday, February 27th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Sad start to the day today.  We've lost one of the greats.  Legendary actor Gene Hackman has died. Police in Santa Fe, New Mexico confirmed late last night that the bodies of Gene, his wife Betsy Arakawa, and their dog had been found inside their home yesterday. No foul play is suspected, and no cause of death has been announced. He won Oscars for "The French Connection" in 1972 and "Unforgiven" in 1993. Gene had just turned 95 last month.

-----

Were just full of good news today… Michelle Trachtenberg, from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Gossip Girl", died yesterday.  She was only 39.  There's no word on the cause of death, but apparently, she had a liver transplant sometime in the past year.

-----

Ella Langley and Riley Green's hit "You Look Like You Love Me" is one of those songs that once you hear it, it's hard to get out of your head.  A TikToker put out a parody song and it's worth checking out.  Except she changed the lyrics to, "Excuse me, you look like you're ugly." The best part is Ella saw the video and approved.   (You can check out Katy's parody song, here.)

-----

Shaboozey now has the longest #1 streak for a solo artist since the Hot Country Songs chart began in 1958.  "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" has now spent 35 weeks at #1.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.
