Welcome to The List –

This year, The Grand Ole Opry will celebrate its 95th anniversary, all this month, they have a non-stop list of special guests, performances, livestream events and more. The festivities start on the third, which is the same day that the Opry reopens to limited in-person audiences with some extra safety measures in place.

Gabby Barrett’s life and career is at the center of an documentary by Amazon Music called Breakthrough: Gabby Barrett. Gabby reflects on milestone moments — from singing in gospel choir when she was nine, to being on American Idol, to preparing for the release of her debut album, Goldmine. Breakthrough: Gabby Barrett premieres on Amazon Music on Monday.

I guess, WWE wrestler John Cena Never Gets Sick Of Hearing His Theme Song …“It’s been about twenty years, and I’ve heard that music every night multiple times five nights a week and I never ever get sick of it” He plays a character named ‘Peacemaker’ in the new James Gunn movie “The Suicide Squad” that is tentatively scheduled for an August 6th, 2021 release.

Jason Sudeikis talks to Ellen about how he and his family kept busy through the pandemic..playing video games, his daughter loves to sing, and bought his son Otis a drum kit for his birthday way back in April…”Why? Exactly, because we’re idiots, we’re idiot actors..we’re, artists we don’t know what we’re doing..we’re just oy yoy yoy…”

And finally, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Ellen talks about the importance of getting checked…”I get checked on a regular basis, you get into a routine as much as nobody wants to do it I’m so used to it now. I went in a little while ago, I went into the room, opened up my gown, leaned against the weird machine and the doctor came in said put those away I’m a dentist. My point is those medical buildings are big…make sure you’re looking in the right door”

The List for Thursday, January 2nd 2025

Welcome to The List,

Lainey Wilson and former NFL quarterback Devlin "Duck" Hodges were one of country music's most beloved couples of 2024, so it's only natural that fans are buzzing about whether they might be taking the next step and tying the knot sometime soon. Bunnie Xo is wondering, too. She confessed to Wilson that she's "manifesting" a wedding for her in 2025.  Lainey has even offered to propose to HIM!!

-----

It's not too unusual for Luke Combs to tease new music before releasing it, but this time, he's got one important question to go along with his unreleased demo. "Who should I duet this with?" he asked fans as he posted a clip of something that appears to be titled "More Less Than Perfect." Combs' new song is a love ballad with lyrics that appear to be directed at a person who fell in love with him, even though he thinks he doesn't deserve her attention.

-----

Blake Lively has filed a lawsuit against her "It Ends with Us" co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, according to court docs…as well as the film’s production company, Wayfarer Studios.  Lively filed a sexual harassment complaint against Baldoni with the California Civil Rights Department on Dec. 20. On Dec. 31, Baldoni and his publicists also sued the New York Times for libel,  after the news outlet published a Dec. 20 article about Lively's claims that she'd been the victim of a smear campaign after speaking up about sexual harassment on the set of "It Ends with Us."

-----

And lastly, Megan Markle started the new year with a fresh Instagram post from a newly launched account. In it, the Duchess of Sussex happily runs barefoot along the sand on a beach while wearing a white button-up shirt and a pair of white jeans rolled up above the ankle.  Writing 20-25 in the sand before running out of the shot. Though the former “Suits” actress, 43, turned off the comments for the post, several stars showed their support by “liking” it, including her pals Serena Williams and Chrissy Teigen.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
