The List for Tuesday, April 5th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Sam Hunt Says his hit song ’23’ was inspired by a trip to the beach! ‘ … “That may have had something to do with it. We were down there and it’s easier to tap into that nostalgia when you’re at the beach, thinking back to trips you know from your youth. But who knows? But I’m glad that it worked out that day because we wrote it in probably two hours, which is pretty rare for me.” He’d been trying to work up to if for several years and a lot of times you’re just one word or little change away from an idea…the idea came getting sand between your toes.

Tim McGraw like most of us loves taking family road trips.  Can you imagine Tim traveling just like Clark W. Griswold From “National Lampoon’s Family Vacation” … “I’ve got a 15-year-old Cadillac Escalade that I love. It’s like my Griswold family cruiser. I just love that car, and we’ll do the southern route and go to L.A. and then go up to Northern California and then take the northern route back, and we’ve really enjoyed it.” I wonder if Tim McGraw HAS a cousin Eddie…he would almost HAVE to…

Jake Gyllenhaal has a new movie out this weekend called “Ambulance” he was talking to Jimmy Kimmel last night apparently director Michael Bay’s home is big…“It took a while for us to find each other, it’s a very large home.  It’s huge and it’s filled with transformer memorabilia.  I ran into Bumble Bee before I ran into him.”Yeah, I can’t imagine Michael Bay having an understated house…We’ll preview “Ambulance” Thursday with ‘At The Movies’

Darius Rucker is planning a free concert on the campus of the University of South Carolina because the women’s basketball team won the National Championship on Sunday by beating UConn 64-49

Sad news today MARTHA STEWART’s four dogs killed her calico Persian cat named Princess Peony.  She says they “mistook her for a Roast Rack of Lamb with Garlic and Herb Crust…on a doily of course

The creator of “Squid Game” is working on a movie that he says will be even MORE violent.  Its working title at the moment is Killing Old People Club”.  There’s no word on the plot. Yeah, I can’t see that causing any problems and   Here’s a good reason to watch next Monday’s CMT Music Awards”.  They’re down to six Video of the Year nominees, and you can still vote at CMT.com.  Surely, your favorite will win.

The List for Friday, December 12th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Diddy is allegedly gearing up for a one-billion-dollar legal smackdown against Netflix over the docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning. His camp says there’s unauthorized personal footage in the series. The director fired back saying the footage came to them legally, with full rights, and added that Diddy has basically filmed himself obsessively for decades. She also says they repeatedly asked his legal team for comment and heard… nothing. I’ve watched it and let’s just say, this lawsuit is gonna need popcorn. We with him all the luck.

Lainey Wilson and Devlin Hodges are reportedly planning a big, expensive wedding and sources say Lainey wants the best of the best. Here’s the twist: neither one of them is swimming in mega-millions. But Lainey loves everyone, considers everyone a friend, and apparently invited half of Nashville. Rumored guests include Dolly, Blake and Gwen, Luke Bryan, Jelly Roll, Morgan Wallen, and more. At this point, it’s less a wedding and more a CMA after-party with vows.

-----

The lineup is out for New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash and it is stacked. Lainey Wilson, Zach Top, Riley Green, Megan Moroney, and a whole parade of country hitmakers are ringing in the new year. So if you’re staying home on New Year’s Eve, congratulations Nashville already planned your soundtrack.

And finally… when Leslie Nielsen died, he went out exactly how you’d expect. A fart machine was placed in his casket and anyone walking up to the bar at his funeral could push a button and make him fart. Even in death, the man committed to the bit. That’s not just comedy… that’s legacy planning.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
