Hailey Whitters tells Billboard magazine that she got asked to open for Maren Morris while she was still waitressing. “I had no label, no management. I was still waitressing at that point. Then Maren asks me, this no-name songwriter to open for her on tour. I was stunned, and then ecstatic. I quit my waitressing job right before the tour started.”

People magazine says Miranda Lambert is going to be a celebrity judge for the World’s Cutest Rescue Dog Contest. The winning dog gets its own People magazine feature and photo shoot. People can apply for the contest by going to People magazine’s website. The winning dog also gets a year’s supply of Pedigree dog food and a $1,000 donation made on their behalf to the animal rescue organization of their choice.

The New York Post says residents in the Hope Ranch area of Santa Barbara, California are nervous that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to leave Montecito for their neighborhood. An anonymous real estate agent tells the newspaper, “The people that made the calls to me don’t want change and they don’t want all the hoopla. They want them to stay in Montecito and not be drawing that kind of attention to Hope Ranch.

When Jackson Dean shot his video for “Fearless,” he knew two things…He wanted it to have an old western feel to it, and he knew he wanted his brother Kyle and his family to star in it..“I knew I wanted to use my brother and my sister-in-law and my niece to tell that story, because what else is greater there to fight for than your family? I can’t think of many other things.”

Former Jeopardy champions are boycotting the next tournament due to the Writers Guild of America strike. Jeopardy relies on WGA members to write its clues and questions, but with the strike on, there can be no writers on set right now. Contestants that were meant to participate in Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions explained online that they do not want to cross the picket line, nor do they want to play with “recycled materials.”
